Human Heart: Duo

Name: Nothing Else Matters
Date: 12/28/11
Materials: Red,Blue,Purple,White and Black Acrylic paint
About: My boyfriend Shane and I did this painting together. We sculpted the shape of the heart mostly with the palm of our hands and then added the rest in with our fingertips. I only used a brush on the lettering and a few intricate lines around the heart. The writing is actually lyrics from 'Nothing Else Matters' by Mettalica. "So close, no matter how far. Coudln't be much more from the heart."

Stained Glass Panda

Top Picture: laying on a flat white canvas
Bottom Picture: resting agianst my window
Name: Stained Glass Panda
Date:
Materials: Turquiose, Black, and White Baroque glass, Copper foil, Solder
About: I did this as an assignment in my Studio in Sculpture 3-4 class. I traced ll my pieces out with a sharpie and then cut them out. Cutting them out was very hard and the front legs on the Panda snapped several times. Once all my pieces were cut I grinded them down, to give them smooth edges for foiling and so that all the pieces would fit correctly. I then foiled all edges of the glass and soldered it together. I'm very happy with the outcome and I plan on trying stained glass again.

Parted Lips: Charcoals

Name:
Date: 12/18/11
Materials: Willow Charcoals
About: I enjoy creating different parts of the human anatomy. I tend to prefer hands, hearts, lips, and eyes. I like charcoals and attempted to create parted lips with them. If I were to do it again I would thin the bottom lip and add more highlights.
